THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - After five years, Thomas County Central High School's early childhood learning program received it's industry certification.
Teachers in the program said they had to gather proof that they completed 87 different standards.
The certification means that the program is recognized among many employers.
The students and staff said the certification is exciting and helps them prepare for the future.
"Mrs. Amy Smith and I have worked really hard these past five years, to show what we have accomplished and what our kids have accomplished. It really means a lot for their resumes and their futures in early childhood education," said Cindy Carnes, Teacher.
A high school club within the program called Future Georgia Educators recently took home many first place awards at a state competition in Atlanta.
