Firefighter training available at SGTC

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

South Georgia Technical College will offer Firefighter I evening classes summer semester 2017.

The classes will meet June 1st through August 1st on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. The courses are taught by active-duty, veteran firefighters.

Anyone who wants to be a firefighter, either paid or volunteer, will benefit from the Firefighter I Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC).

Once the program, which consists of four classes that can all be taken summer semester, is successfully complete, a student will be able to sit for the NPQ I (National Professional Qualifications) Firefighter test to become a firefighter.

The Firefighter II TCC is also available at SGTC, as well as the Fire Science Technology diploma program.
