GSP identifies man killed in Worth collision

WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

A helicopter landed, and emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal collision in Worth County, near Highway 256, Scooterville Road, and Pine Forest Road.

The state patrol said Monday afternoon that the driver of the at fault vehicle is Toney Wayne Angle, Jr., 27, of Tifton. His father, Toney Wayne Angle, Sr., 50, also of Tifton, died. 

Curtis Franklin Woodard, 72, of Omega, who was driving the box truck, is in critical condition. 

The wreck was been between two trucks, and happened around 8:50 a.m.

Trooper David Fretwell said it appears that the driver of the semi truck ran stop sign on Pine Forest Road, and hit side of a box truck.

The passenger of semi truck, Mr. Angle, Sr., wasn't wearing a seat belt, and died at the scene. 

The driver of the semi has no reported injuries.

The driver of box truck, Woodard, was airlifted to Thomasville, in critical condition.

The investigation is still ongoing, charges are pending against the driver of the semi.
