ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some senior citizens in Albany spent the evening snacking on some Easter candy, thanks to an event put on by the city.
It was the first ever Senior Citizens' Easter Egg Hunt and Bingo Brunch Extravaganza at the Albany Civic Center.
More than 100 people participated.
Albany Recreation Supervisor Tee Taylor said several senior citizens in attendance were hit by the storms, and the department wanted to give them a ray of hope.
"They go back and look at their house and it's still damaged, but coming together today and see all the city departments here today to let them know that we do still care about you," said Taylor.
Albany Utilities, Albany Police and Albany Fire Departments all helped out with the event.
Taylor said Albany Recreation & Parks plans to make the egg hunt and bingo brunch a yearly event.
