SRTC fills need for skilled workers

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - One hundred percent of students graduating from Southern Regional Technical College will find careers right away according to career services staff at the college.

They said that's due to the high demand of skilled worker jobs.

School administrators said the blue collar field has shifted from traditional jobs like a plumber or welder to also include jobs like a nurse or computer technician.

"Those skill sets, even the automotive industry. We talk about how to turn a wrench that's not all these students are having to do. They have to know the technology behind those cars," said Lisa Griffin, Director of Admissions.

"Everyone here loves to see everyone come in and grow and get a job in their field," said Dana Lewis, Career Services Coordinator.

Lewis said it's also exciting that most of the graduates are staying right here in Southwest Georgia.
