ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County Police officers got some foster kids into the Easter spirit a little early this year.

Officers dropped off stuffed bunnies and other Easter treats at the Lily Pad 'Sane Center.'

This year, the center has 173 kids in foster care.

DCP's Lieutenant Steve Mitchum says it's a fun day that officers look forward to.

"We know there are so many children out there that are in need, that are less fortunate than most children.  It's our way of just trying to bring a smile to their face this time of the season," said Mitchum.

Executive Director Mary Martinez says DCP's visit means a lot to each and every child.
