As if having both teams win each of the last two track meets wasn't sweet enough, Albany State got even sweeter news from the conference Monday.

The SIAC announced it will hold the conference championships at Hugh Mills stadium on May 4-6.

With just under a month to go, the Rams are as hot as they've been all season.

Both teams won at the Alice Coachman invitational and the Cougar Classic.

Next up on the schedule is the SIAC.

The Lady Rams are the defending conference champs..

Senior sprinter Ebone Cobb is graduating on the same day the championships will close. She's looking for another ring to go with her degree.

"I'll be walking across the stage then running across the track," said Cobb. "All it is is motivation. It just gives me another reason  why I should fight harder to graduate and win the conference championship in the same day."

Jared Jordan is the top division II 200m runner in the country. He's stoked about the benefits of remaining home.

"Don't have to sleep in those hotels, the bus rides," said Jordan. "We can just get out and perform in front of the home crowd. I think that's an advantage."

All field events will be held on Albany State's campus, while Hugh Mills Stadium will host all running events.
