ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The green and gold weekend in Albany wrapped up today as Monroe Comprehensive High School alumni went to church.

The annual alumni week kicked off a couple days ago.

Today alumni from the class of 1945 all the way to the Class of 2016 enjoyed a community church service.

More than 2,500 alums pre-registered to attend the weekend-long event.

The theme was sunshine after the storms.

"There's been devastation from tornadoes this year. We just wanted to bring some sunshine and some smiles to the community's faces, to the faces of our alums. Just to show the community that we can come together and have a good time," said LaKisha Bruce Bryant, Class of '91.

The proceeds raised from this week's activities will go to Monroe's athletic and academic programs.
