ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Tennis players in Southwest Georgia hit the courts for a good cause this weekend.
The SOWEGA Council on Aging hosted the fourth annual Serving Up Meals Tournament through Sunday.
Doublegate Country Club hosted the tennis matches.
Over 80 players registered to play throughout the weekend.
There was also a youth clinic to teach the younger generation tennis skills and how they can help the SOWEGA council.
"We always try to beat the curve and try to be as self sustaining as possible by doing a lot of fundraisers like this to help," said Izzie Sandler, Associate Director.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Meals-on-Wheels program, which delivers over 186-thousand meals each year to home bound seniors in southwest Georgia.
