AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Downtown Americus got a bit more crowded Saturday afternoon for the inaugural Hot Glass Craft Beer Festival.
The festival included 10 Georgia brewers and 20 hot glass blowing artisans.
Tickets did sell out, but organizers sold some non-drinking tickets at the gate.
Visitors got to watch hot glass blowing demonstrations while tasting various beers made by those Georgia breweries.
"It takes a lot of technique..a lot of self-determination. It's a 6,000 year old technology," said Christopher Stokes, who used to practice glass blowing.
"It really brought out all of Americus and the surrounding Georgia area, and everyone had a great time today," said Rosemarie Oakman who attended the festival.
Organizers also held a silent auction at the event, and proceeds from that will go to help patients with Alzheimer's.
