WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

Several people were injured, one seriously, after a crash on Highway 300 in Worth County.

Georgia State Patrol troopers said this is the second wreck in 30 days in the county involving a trash truck.

It happened near the intersection of Bundrick Moore Road Friday evening around 5:30 p.m.

A Honda Accord, driven by a girl, 17, from Crisp County, told Georgia State Patrol troopers she did not realize the Advanced Disposal Garbage truck was stopped, struck a vehicle while trying to get over and then slammed into the rear of the truck.

An employee moving garbage cans jumped out of the way before impact.

He and the garbage truck driver were both transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

But the passenger in the Honda, 18-year-old Andre Robinson, Jr. of Vienna was air-lifted to a hospital in Macon.

He is being treated in the emergency room for head injuries.

The driver of the Accord left the scene before she reported any injuries to GSP, but troopers said she will be cited for following too closely.

Another driver involved in the wreck received a minor head injury when she hit her head on the driver side window, but drove her own vehicle away from the scene.

It took about three hours to clear the road.
