City leaders in Moultrie are celebrating this week after being named on the Georgia Exceptional Main Street program's list.
Eight new cities were added to the list to join the eight programs that were already on the list.
The list recognizes downtown communities that are adding jobs, revitalizing existing buildings, creating new businesses and housing facilities.
Folks at the Main Street office in Moultrie say being named on this list came as a great surprise to them.
Five of the sixteen main street communities on the list are right here in Southwest Georgia.
