LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Dougherty and Lee County Emergency Operation Centers are now closed.
Dougherty County EMA Director Ron Rowe said that the EOC closed at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rowe also said that the EOC non-emergency numbers are no longer being staffed as the severe weather threat has passed.
According to the Lee County Public Safety Director Wesley Wells, the Emergency Operations Center closed at 6 p.m. after the storm rolled through the Lee County area.
Wesley said that it appeared the danger had passed and the EOC was shut down.
The Lee County Co-Manager Mike Sistrunk said that the EOC is prepared to reopen if storms do kick back up later Wednesday night.
Sistrunk also said that most of the roads in the area that had water on them have drained off.
Lee County Public Works employees are out checking to make sure roads are passable.
Sistrunk believes that dirt roads may be an issue overnight and Thursday morning.
