ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Emergency officials urged people who live in mobile homes to seek safer, and more secure shelter ahead of the storms on Wednesday.

And many people did so by booking rooms at hotels around town.

Several hotels in the area said they were completely booked.

The Assistant General Manager Lasheria Mack at Baymont Inn and Suites on Dawson Road said they were completely booked Wednesday night, housing storm victims from January, mobile home owners and even storm cleanup crews.

Mack said they're making exceptions for people who need to fit more people in one room.

"It's just been sold out, sold out, sold out, sold out. Phone ringing, and you feel so bad. It got to the point where I was telling people, 'Hey, have you tried the camping grounds?' And that's what I did in January. 'Have you tried this? Have you tried that?' It's hard," explained Mack.

Currently, we know Fairfield Inn and Suites is completely booked, so is the Holiday Inn Express and the Wingate by Wyndham.

The Wingate is also offering reduced rates for storm victims. They hope to have openings by Friday.

Mack recommends people plan ahead and prepare for the worst.
