ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Many South Georgians spent Tuesday cleaning up after severe weather damage Monday.and getting ready in preparation for possibly more Wednesday.

Many people in Albany had trees fall and power lines torn down, like Dee Matthews.   She had a tree blown down onto her rear patio Monday.

Tuesday Porterfield United Methodist Church volunteers cleaned the damage up.  In January Matthews had another tree brought down by storms.

A resident in Albany for more than 50 years, Matthews says she is baffled by this year's frequent storms.

"We've never seen anything like this," said Matthews. "We really haven't.  Now Albany has strange weather, all right.  Because the tornadoes come through and whatever like it does in other communities, but never like this."

Matthews said most of her neighbors are talking about this year's storm damage, and looking to ways to protect their homes.
