ALBANY, GA (WALB) - All around town, everyone is talking about why don't we do more to clean up the trash on our roadways and in our neighborhoods.

Well, April is Keep Georgia Beautiful Month, so here is your chance to get more involved. We already hear clean up events are being planned all over South Georgia.

Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful invites all students, individuals, businesses, churches, and civic groups to participate in the annual "Stash the Trash" Great American litter pick up campaign.

This event on April 21st and 22nd  is meant to focus our community's attention on how important the visual appearance of our community is to our citizens as well as our visitors.

Teams that register by April 10th will receive a free T-shirt.

Last year 2,701 volunteers cleaned 119 miles of roadway, as they removed 15 tons of debris.
