Valdosta jewelry store robbed

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - About noon Saturday, Valdosta Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress on Northside Drive at a jewelry store.

Uniformed patrol officers responded and store employees said three men entered the business with a weapon and forced the employees toward the rear of store.

While the employees were being held, the offenders stole an undisclosed amount of property and cash. All three then ran away.

A K-9 unit arrived to track the suspects.

"The Valdosta Police Department asks if anyone has knowledge or information in regards to this case to please contact the Valdosta Police Department immediately," said Lieutenant Adam Bembry.

Witness statements and physical evidence was collected from the crime scene and will be examined by investigators. Surveillance footage is still being analyzed.
