WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - A firefighter was injured and transported to the hospital after battling a structure fire on Camp Osborne Road Friday afternoon.
According to officials, the firefighter has been released from Phoebe and is back home.
A report stated that crews responded to the fire around 3:15 p.m. where they found a tin structure that was fully involved.
Officials said that the fire originally started as a permitted burn of debris on the property when wind caused embers to blow toward the structure, catching it on fire.
The Georgia Forestry Commission was called to assist after more embers from the fire blew across the road and started a fire in a field. The commission was able to extinguish that fire.
Worth County fire officials put out the structure fire just before 6 p.m.
