ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Mayor Dorothy Hubbard has dedicated March 2017 to all those who support the Red Cross mission.
Mayor Hubbard signed the proclamation alongside Southwest Georgia Red Cross Director Andy Brubaker on Friday.
She said she could not emphasize enough her gratitude for Red Cross and its volunteers during January's storms.
"We could not have made it through January and the early February without their assistance," said Mayor Hubbard. "So I was just really elated to be able to declare March as Red Cross Month, as well as to encourage our citizens to be aware of and support the Red Cross in terms of finances, in terms of volunteers, and just wherever their needs are."
March is national Red Cross month.
