Co. manager tells commissioners he'll retire

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

In an unexpected move Friday morning, Dougherty County Administrator Richard Crowdis told members of the county commission that he will be retiring at the end of this year. 

Crowdis has been the county administrator since 1998, but he's been working in various city and county governments since 1975.

Crowdis is a native of Early County, and was the city manager in Brunswick and Griffin, before coming to Dougherty County.
