Thomasville restaurant owners excited about Sunday alcohol sales

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Starting this weekend folks in Thomasville can now buy alcohol on Sunday. 

Two ballot initiatives regarding Sunday sales were approved Tuesday night.  

Thomasville officials said Sunday package sales were voted in with at 731 to 293 vote margin. 

Sales by the drink were also passed 746 to 274. 

Restaurant owners are excited about this and said it could bring more customers in.

"We feel like its our customers choice whether they want to have a mimosa on Sunday at brunch. We do feel like it will bring in a lot more customers especially from Florida since a lot of our business comes from Florida," said Amy Martin, Co-owner of SASS! 

SASS restaurant in Thomasville is already open on Sundays.

They can now sell alcohol after 12:30 in the afternoon.
