DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

Coffee County investigators have arrested a woman after a golf cart with an estimated value of over $5,000 was taken from a residence in the Green Acres community earlier this year.

Coffee Co. Sheriff Doyle Wooten said that deputies responded to a home on Ramblewood Road in January to check out the theft of an EZ GO golf cart.

The investigation by Coffee County detectives led to 36-year-old Valarie Christa Cox, who was located in Berrien County Monday, with the assistance of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

They got the stolen golf cart, which has been returned to the owner.

Cox has been charged with one count of felony theft by taking and has also been charged on a probation violation.

She remains in the Coffee County Jail.
