ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Albany campus held a special ceremony to salute their new associate dean, Dr. Doug Patten.
Medical College Officials also honored the retirement of their founding dean.
And they celebrated their 10-year anniversary since partnering with Phoebe to expand the medical education across Southwest Georgia.
Dr. Patten plans to continue to do just that.
"The ultimate goal is to create an environment here that attracts physicians back to these communities in Southwest Georgia so we can continue to work on improving the health and the healthcare of the region," said MCG Associate Dean Dr. Doug Patten.
Dr. Patten hopes to make sure all Augusta students rotating in Southwest Georgia have a great experience.
And he hopes to enhance the workforce by attracting more physicians to South Georgia.
