Spring Break travel safety

Spring Break travel safety

TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - Spring break is in full swing for college students around the country, that means... more traffic.

State Troopers are sending out a warning to parents and all drivers.

I-75 is a popular route to get to spring break destinations.

GSP troopers in Tifton say, in any given year, 60-70% of people who die in Georgia crashes aren't wearing seat belts.

They urge students to buckle up before hitting the road.

For long trips, they encourage driver trade-offs so one driver does not fall asleep at the wheel.

They also remind parents to check in regularly with your child if you know they're on the road.
