ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Community members trying to heal after January's storms are coming together to celebrate the progress made by those cleaning up.
Folks are spending the day in the Austin's Firegrill parking lot in Albany.
Yoga classes, live music, a corn hole tournament and cross carvers are some of the activities.
Organizers said proceeds will benefit the Fuller Center, Albany Humane Society and several other organizations.
"We lost a lot of trees in the storm. But we have to start somewhere. We just felt like it would be good opportunity to give out some trees in which people could plant out at their homes and start that process," said Tom Lambert, Georgia Forestry.
"Celebrating what we've accomplished, moving forward but playing some corn hole, listening to some music and having a good time," said Stacey Briggers, organizer.
