ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Chamber members are heading to Capitol Hill.

Every year, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce travels to Washington D.C. to advocate on policies and initiatives that impact residents.

They plan to discuss the storm's impact on the community and federal assistance related to recovery efforts.

They'll also travel to the Pentagon to meet with Marine Corp leadership to review the critical needs of the Marine Corp Logistics Base.

And chamber members will share this year's successes with the delegates.

"We've seen our educational institutions partner with business organizations, with the chamber of commerce, with the economic development, with our governmental agencies. And we've seen significant strides with how we train our workforce to meet the demands of the existing industries and future industries," said President & CEO Barbara Rivera Holmes.

Albany Area Chamber of Commerce members will meet with U.S. Congressmen Sanford Bishop, David Perdue and Johnny Isakson next week.

They leave for D.C. on Monday and return on Wednesday.
