A rare opportunity to explore nature, untouched, is at hand, and is a great chance for young people to appreciate the beauty of South Georgia.
The Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center at Ichauway holds its biennial Open House on Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 10 A.M.-2 P.M.
Founded in 1991 on Ichauway’s 29,000 acres, the Jones Center’s mission is to understand, to demonstrate, and to promote excellence in natural resource management and conservation.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the research, conservation, and education programs firsthand as well as tour the Ichauway property.
This free event includes hands-on children’s activities, walking tours of working research facilities, wagon tours of Ichauway’s landscape and historical area, and more.
Bring your own picnic lunch, but drinks and tables will be provided by the facility.
The Jones Center is located in Georgia on State Highway 91, approximately 10 miles south of Newton, and 15 miles north of Colquitt.
