VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A sentence has been handed down for a Valdosta dentist who pleaded guilty in October of 2016 to healthcare fraud.
Dr. Stanley B. Marable, 55, a dentist in Valdosta, will now serve two years and three months in federal prison for collecting Medicaid payments totaling $789,000 for extracting teeth from patients.
Several of those patients said they hadn't had their teeth removed and one claimed they didn't even know Dr. Marable.
Marable was also sentenced to two years of supervised release, charged a fine of $5,000 and a mandatory assessment fee of $100.
He also agreed to pay restitution in the amount of $789,841 to the Georgia Medicaid Program. The full amount of restitution was paid before he was sentenced.
