BAKER CO., GA (WALB) -

A rowdy school board meeting Tuesday night in Baker County.

Dozens of residents voiced their concerns over the school board mandatory training trip in Savannah.

School leaders said the trip was originally set in Camilla to save money.

The board voted three to two, for the training to be held in Savannah.

Residents complained they believe the training trip misuses taxpayers dollars, which should ultimately go to the students.

"Everyone got the bigger picture here that the students are what needs to be focused on first and like I said hopefully this big turnout will continue here at our board meetings. We need your support," said Baker Co. Administrative Assistant Gabe Ornelas.

Baker County school leaders said the trip will cost at least $5,000. The training will take place in June.
