UGA Tifton helps high school students apply for college

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

It's that time of year again, the time when high school seniors start applying for colleges and receiving decision letters in the mail.

For most students, it's a very stressful process.

UGA Tifton has come up with a way to make that process a little easier.

Counselors and current students have partnered together to offer advice to prospective students.

Next Thursday night, they will hold an application night and a mingle session for students who wish to enroll at UGA Tifton or any other UGA campus, including the main campus in Athens.

They have spent the past few weeks helping students who may have questions but this night will serve as an open house for students and parents to make sure they are filling out the applications correctly and meeting all deadlines.

"They were able to walk me through every step of every process of that long online application which can be very intimidating," said Cliff Collins, student.

"We just want to make sure the students feel really comfortable with the process, that they're able to ask questions and that they understand what they need to do before and after," said Breanna Coursey, Academic Counselor.

Application night is Thursday, March 23 on the campus of UGA Tifton.
