ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Officials at Phoebe said that they're doing what they can to ensure the safety of their patients.

Faculty members at the hospital gathered Monday morning as normal, but this time to recognize National Patient Safety Week.

While these meetings take place each week, Monday's discussion involved addressing points of concern for patients, procedures that happen and other factors that involve a patient's safety.

"We make sure that we have everything that we need to take high quality care of patients. So that's staffing, that's resources, that's equipment. So it's really the opportunity for us to look forward to the next 24 hours, and have everything we need to provide safe and high quality care," said Chief Medical Officer Steve Kitchen.

National Patient Safety Week lasts until Saturday. Each day includes a list of promises to patients from employees.
