ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A day of healing and family fun is in the works for folks in Albany.
It's called the Albany Strong fun fest.
It's organized by community members, I-heart radio, Phoebe and the Albany fire department.
The event is an opportunity to help the community recover and debrief from the two storms that hit in January.
There will be food and fun activities for families.
There will also be a number of resources to help families with their recovery process, including a number of chaplains.
Albany Fire Department's Assistant Chief Anderson said there is still a lot of work to be done.
"It's also a time when people can talk to each other. When people have been through the same event, sometimes it's beneficial for people to talk to each other about their experience," said Anderson.
The event is set for March 25th at the fairgrounds.
Organizers are still looking for vendors.
