WARWICK, GA (WALB) - The Worth County coroner said he's had to respond to fatal crashes at one dangerous intersection too many times.
John Johnson was concerned by the number of fatal wrecks that have occurred at the intersection of Highway 300 and 32.
Three people died this year.
He said most of the crashes occur because drivers who are traveling east or west on Highway 32 were pulling out into oncoming traffic on Highway 300.
Johnson believed distraction could be the primary reason behind the crashes.
"It's just being distracted. Not paying close enough attention before you pull out to go across the highway there," said Johnson.
He said there were ripples on Highway 32 for drivers going east and west alerting them to slowdown as they approach Highway 300.
Johnson thinks a traffic light could reduce wrecks, and to get that, residents would need to file a petition with the Georgia Department of Transportation.
