ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

After more than three decades of service, Delores Payton is retiring from the YMCA in Albany.

For the past 36 years, Payton has opened the doors to the location on Gillionville Road at 4:30 a.m.

She's served as the members services coordinator.

On Friday she punched in her time card for the last time.

Members gave her hugs and even a few gifts.

They thanked her for her warm smile each and every day.

"I felt like this was my home away from home. I've enjoyed it for the past 36 plus years. I'm going to miss my friends, members and my loved ones," said Payton.

Payton said she's still a member for life.

She'll still be around attending fitness classes.
