THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thursday, a storm shelter manufacturing company from Thomasville donated a check to Second Harvest Food Bank
Survive-a-storm presented a $3,900 check to the Food Bank in Thomasville.
Employees donated five percent of their proceeds from store shelters installed in South Georgia homes last month.
Survive-a-storm employees said the storm hit close to home and they wanted to help out.
"Being able to not only provide shelter and safety from a tornado but being able to give back financially to the community and food bank to better the cause for the clean up and aftermath," said Kaitlin Parramore, VP of Sales.
The company said it have installed a lot of shelters in South Georgia in the past few weeks.
