ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany IHOP was just one of the many IHOP restaurants that celebrated National Pancake Day on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
Guests started piling into the restaurant early on Tuesday.
Each guest received a free short stack of original pancakes. In return, IHOP asked customers to leave a monetary donation for its charitable partners.
The money raised at the Albany IHOP will go towards the Children's Miracle Network at Phoebe.
"All of the money stays local and it supports our NICU and Pediatrics," Children's Miracle Network Special Events Coordinator Becca Miller said.
The money will help the Children's Miracle Network with supplies and equipment.
"Our NICU and Pediatrics are always coming to us with new ways that we can help have that cutting edge and make sure every kid in our region has access to the best care," Miller said.
Volunteers with the Kiwanis Club spent their Tuesday helping out at the event. The organization has been an area partner for the event for several years now.
Volunteers said they love seeing the tables filled on National Pancake Day.
"That's a great feeling. It puts a smile on your face and the money will put a smile on the children that it will help," Former Kiwanis Club Governor Katrina Baranko said.
IHOP will continue offering the free pancakes until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
