ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A south Albany store is back open, after someone set a fire in the store Wednesday night.
Albany fire investigators said that store employees saw someone set a box of artificial flowers on a shelf on fire, and run out of the store.
Employees quickly used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out, before the store's sprinkler system went off.
Investigators don't know why the suspect would set the fire.
"At this point it's under investigation. No idea who started the fire right now, but with cameras, you know, hopefully we will be able to identify somebody real soon," said Deputy Chief Sebon Burns with the Albany Fire Department.
The store sells food, so the Dollar General was closed until the Fire Department and the Department of Agriculture performed an inspection and approved it to re-open. Which happened around 11 Thursday morning.
The arson is still under investigation.
