ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany organization that helps homeless children said 'thank you' to Albany Police Wednesday afternoon, by feeding them lunch.

Open Arms, Inc. treated officers to what they called 'Chili with the Chief.'

The organization prepared chili lunch with all the fixings for the department as a way to say thanks for helping them protect kids in Albany.

"They are taking care of our kids on the streets, when they are homeless, that have no where else to go. And so that partnership helps us take care of our kids," explained Open Arms Inc. Executive Director Fonda Thompson.

This is the second year that Open Arms has hosted the Albany Police Department for a thank you lunch, and they plan to keep doing it every year.
