Albany liquor stores gear up for NYE

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Liquor stores are prepping for one of their busiest times of the year.

The Warehouse Wine and Spirits on Pine Avenue is making sure all the shelves are fully stocked.

The manager said with the warm weather they expect to sell plenty of beer for New Year's Eve but they've also got all sorts of liquor for sale.

"We're got several local companies. we've got still pond vineyards and also 13th colony out of Americus which are local producers and people are all about buying local now so I hope they support their friends here locally," said Store Manager Louis Bernard.

The Warehouse has locations in Albany and Valdosta.

They expect to serve a couple of thousand customers this weekend.

    Thomas County has been working all weekend to help community members prepare for the storm.  One way they're doing that is offering free sandbags for people who live in low lying areas that hold a lot of water.
