VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The malls are not the only places packed this holiday season.
Many people are running to their area UPS stores to make sure their packages make it under the tree.
"The two weeks before Christmas Eve are the busiest weeks of the year," said UPS Store General Manager Jimmy Bruhl.
Bruhl manages both of the UPS Stores in Valdosta. He told WALB News 10 that both stores have been busy packing up boxes.
"Typically after Thanksgiving, we begin to see a tick in customer count and sales," Bruhl said.
UPS expects more than 700 million packages to be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. According to the carrier, that's an increase of 14% compared to 2015.
"We're really excited and amped up to see what this Christmas holds, Bruhl said.
If you're not a packaging expert, no worries. Bruhl said his team will do the work for you.
"People typically bring their items in that they've purchased and stayed at home for a week and wrapped," Bruhl said.
If you want your gifts to make it to their destination by December 25th, Bruhl said you need to have them in the store and ready for next day delivery by Thursday, December 22nd.
And if you're nervous about the carrier leaving your packages at the doorstep, Bruhl suggested using UPS My Choice.
Instead of arriving at the front door, the carrier allows customers to choose if they would like to the package to be taken to their area UPS Store.
"It's just a really easy way for customers to be able to pick their package up and have everything accounted for and not really [have] to worry about it," Bruhl said.
In order to pick up packages, customers must bring a valid form of identification.
