DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - The city of Douglas plans to build a baseball field that will accommodate people with disabilities.
Davis Wade Park will be the site of a miracle field.
The group pushing for the park is looking to raise $1 million for renovations.
They hope to raise the money by March so the field can be available for special needs kids to get active.
"Just because they're disabled, with disabilities, we don't want that to be a hangup when all of us good walking people can help them," said City Commissioner Johnnie Lee Roper.
There are currently more than 240 miracle league organizations across the country.
