ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Prosecutors said a deadly Saturday morning shooting in Albany was gang related, and investigators are asking for community help to get the killer off the street.

Curtis Davis was shot in the alley in the 600 block between West Society Avenue and West Tift Avenue.

Davis died at the hospital later that day.

An autopsy showed he died from a single gunshot to the back.

Prosecutors said Davis was not a gang member, and they are not getting a lot of cooperation from witnesses.

"Number one it did involve gang activity. And number 2 we are asking the community to provide us with all the information that they can, to help us bring justice to this situation. Because all lives matter," said Dougherty County D.A. Greg Edwards.

This is the 15th homicide in Albany this year, and officials are concerned about the wave of recent violence.

Anyone with information about this murder is urged to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
