VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Valdosta Police Department has arrested three people for their connection to two homicides in November.

Malik Griffin, 20, Justin Emanuel Brown, 28, and Jordan Williams, 23, were all arrested on various charges.

On November 14, Brian Keith Moore was found shot to death in his home.

Officials learned that Griffin drove Emory Austin Carter, Jr., 20, to Moore's home, intending to rob him. After Carter shot Moore, he and Griffin left the scene before police arrived.

On November 28, Brown, Moore's brother, saw Carter walking through the Ora Lee West Housing Complex and shot him to death.

Police said members of Moore's family knew that Carter was the shooter, but didn't tell the authorities.

“Had Moore’s family and friends come forward and shared information with law enforcement, another tragedy may have been averted. In some circles, the idea of seeking revenge is more appealing than seeking justice through lawful means. Taking matters in your own hands may feel good for the moment, but it has harsh, lasting consequences. Once information was known about the offender in the first murder, this should have immediately been reported to the police. Now two people are dead and several will be going to prison”, stated Chief Brian Childress.

Brown has been charged with felony murder aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Williams, who was a friend of Moore, removed narcotics and a handgun from the scene after the homicide. He has been charged with tampering with evidence and false statement.

Griffin has been charged with aggravated assault for his involvement in Moore's death.
