EARLY CO., GA (WALB) -

An Early County man is facing charges after running from an officer Thursday afternoon, causing a school lockdown.

Samuel Lyles, 35, was arrested Thursday night when officers found him hiding in the yard at his mother's house.

The Early County Sheriff's department got a call that Lyles was threatening another person with a gun.

Officers tried to apprehend Lyles in the parking lot of a local hotel.

They said he began to run from the officers.

The investigation is still underway.

It's not clear yet if he will face more charges.
