A few police elves were spotted doing some Christmas shopping Friday in Albany.
Operation "Blue" Santa is a relationship between the Albany Police Department and Target.
Albany Police Chief Michael Persley and several other officers checked their list twice as they went throughout the aisles picking gifts for children in foster care and the Liberty House.
"We've identified those kids who may be in homes or situations that due to circumstances where they don't get to come out in public as much,” Persley said.
The Albany Police Department shopped for nearly fifty kids Friday.
They'll do more shopping Saturday, December 17, 2016, during the department's annual Shop with a Cop at Kmart.
