DAWSON, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of kids in Dawson walked away with gifts Thursday night.
The Positive Direction after school program held its 13th annual Spirit of Christmas event.
Nearly 200 kids were either given gifts or money to shop for their presents at Walmart.
Many of them got to pick out what they wanted from a store set up earlier at the site.
Kids also performed holiday songs and recited poems and got a special visit from Santa.
"It is very special, each year it gets bigger and bigger and we hope for it to be bigger next year," said Director Dorothy Tomlin.
The gifts were provided by 10 local sponsors.
