"We all spent our 25 dollars that we were going to buy Angie, Donna, or Lisa or anybody a gift and we put it for the kids. I think that's a better thing. What do we need? Nothing. They deserve it," said employee, Helen Cody. (Source:WALB) "We all spent our 25 dollars that we were going to buy Angie, Donna, or Lisa or anybody a gift and we put it for the kids. PELHAM, GA (WALB) -

Folks in Pelham are coming together this holiday season to collect toys donations for children.

Usually, city hall employees have a secret Santa gift exchange.

This year, instead of buying gifts for each other, they spent their money on toys for the toys for tots program.

After just a couple days, the donation bin is already filled to the top

"We all spent our 25 dollars that we were going to buy Angie, Donna, or Lisa or anybody a gift and we put it for the kids. I think that's a better thing. What do we need? Nothing. They deserve it," said employee, Helen Cody.

Georgia state patrol troopers will pick up the box Thursday.

If you have any donations, you can still drop them off.
