VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Handguns, Cocaine, and seven thousand dollars in cash was recovered when Valdosta police conducted a sting operation Friday night.

Valdosta Police Detectives then set up an undercover operation on West Hill Avenue to buy the stolen property. Acting on a tip from another agency, VPD was watching for the stolen merchandise.

Police arrested Christopher Davis, 38, of Sharpsburg, GA, and Dexter Hubbard, 34, of Murphy, NC.

Davis was charged with four felonies:

Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into the State
Theft by Receiving
Possession of Cocaine
Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime

Harper was charged with two felonies:

Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into the State
Theft by Receiving

"This case is a great example of how different Law Enforcement agencies work with each other on a daily basis solve crimes, even when agencies are several hundred miles away from each other. The Valdosta Police Department is very pleased with the solid efforts of both detectives and uniformed patrol units for their efforts in taking both thieves into custody," said VPD Lieutenant Adam Bembry.

A truck full of stolen property valued at over $100,000 was returned to the owner.
