ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With frigid temps headed our way, now is the time to prep your home.
Albany Utilities urges residents to follow these winterization tips:
They suggest having good insulation by ceiling windows and doors.
Leave your water dripping from the faucet to keep your pipes from freezing.
Keep your thermostat between 66 and 68 to keep your electricity bill low.
"We do have home audits for anybody just if you wanted to know if you've got the right insulation in your home. If you have leaks in the windows you can take advantage of these free services," said Monique Broughton Knight, city marketing manager.
Albany Utilities also offers a weatherization assistance program for seniors.
