AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

We are hearing for the first time, from the neighbor who saw all of the stunning events unfold Wednesday morning.  As a result of what happened outside that apartment, three men are dead.

It's been a long couple of days here in Americus, especially for those who witnessed the shooting. The neighbor we talked to says he had seen Minquell Limerick go into the apartment a few times before.

Crime scene tape droops to the pavement, two days after two officers were shot and left lying on this ground.

Officers were reporting to that call Wednesday about a domestic dispute in apartment 107 C.

"I was shocked because I had never heard anything like that," said Marquis Collins. "I heard stuff hitting the walls and all that… That's what woke me up."

Collins lived next door, and said he heard it all. "I heard some gun shots. There were about 9, 10, 11 gun shots..."

On the 911 call tape, a caller says: "Oh no, he shot the police! He shot one of them..."

He says he didn't know his neighbors too well, but when the woman came knocking, asking to use his phone, he didn't hesitate to hand it over. "I came down stairs and opened the door, and she asked if she could hold my phone and call the landlord."

Now Collins just hopes things will go back to normal soon. "I've been living over here for like eight years, and then all of a sudden, this just happens and it just shocked me."

Collins said he did not see the woman come back at all today. He did see her last night go back into the apartment with police.
